Baby Sleeping Bags

Sleeping bags are a popular choice among parents to keep their baby warm during sleep. There are several reasons why sleeping bags are beneficial for infants. Sleep Safety: Sleeping bags prevent the baby from pulling blankets or pillows over their face, reducing the risk of suffocation or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Heat Retention: Due to their design and materials, sleeping bags effectively retain heat, maintaining a constant body temperature for the baby during sleep. Freedom of Movement: Sleeping bags allow the baby some freedom of movement, crucial for their development, while keeping the upper body covered to prevent excessive cooling.

TOG value is a measure of thermal insulation or a material's ability to retain heat. A higher TOG value indicates a warmer sleeping bag. When choosing a sleeping bag, it's important to consider the TOG value based on the environmental conditions in the room and the room temperature where the baby will sleep. Generally, the recommended TOG value for infants in regularly heated rooms ranges from 2.0 to 3.5. When selecting a sleeping bag, pay attention to the season, room temperature, and the baby's dressing, as these factors influence how warm the sleeping bag should be.

  • 0.5 TOG or less: Suitable for warmer rooms (above 24 °C) or summer months when the ambient temperature is higher.
  • 1.0 - 2.5 TOG: Suitable for moderately cooler rooms (18 °C - 23 °C) and spring or autumn days.
  • 2.5 TOG or more: Used for colder rooms (below 18 °C) and winter months. Higher TOG values are better for colder environmental conditions.

WARNING! Do not use when the child can climb out of the crib. WARNING! Do not use in combination with a quilted blanket.
